My 22nd Homemade basic white bread. Started baking at 1718 hr on 2013-10-31:

Basic white bread. Light crust. Baking time 3.5 hours.
Results: Good. 

Recipe ref: M2013J31

3/4 cups of water
1/2 tablespoon sugar
2 cups of bread flour
2 tablespoons of milk powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
About 1.5 tablespoons of butter
1 teaspoon of instant yeast

Faulty Taiyo Pressure Cooker Model PC51M was repaired and now working OK! (as at 2013-10-31)

Update on 2013-08-12:

Today at about 8.56 pm, I found the pressure cooker function of this cooker wad faulty again when I used it to cook my multigrain rice. And I shall buy a new one, most probably a Philips model.

Note: Since early this year I have been using another method to cook my cereal consisting of multi whole grains, seeds, beans and nuts.


I bought one Taiyo Pressure Cooker Model PC51M on 9 November 2012 at S$188.00 (Usual price S$199.00) at NTUC Fairprice Supermarket (AMK Hub) to replace the faulty Taiyo Pressure Cooker Model PC50M bought on 7 November 2009.

A few months ago, Taiyo Pressure Cooker Model PC51M became faulty. The "pressure cooker" mode was not working.

On 24 October 2013, I sent the faulty cooker for repair. On 31 Oct 2013 morning, I collected the repaired cooker.Then I cooked multigrain rice with the cooker to test it. 

Results: OK. I guess they changed the plastic ring in the cooker cover.

No sugar
No salt
My own Ground Multi whole grain, nuts, beans and seeds: 70 G
Prima Bread flour 135 g
Milk. 4 tablespoons 
Water 3/4 cups
Yeast 1 teaspoon 
Setting: Light crust.

Result: Failed experiment. Please see the attached photos. The crust is brownish and hard. However interior of the bread is soft and eatable. Taste is OK for me.

My 20th homemade bread. Regular Basic bread made of 50% bread flour, 50% whole grain wheat flour, dry milk powder, olive oil, sugar, salt. Light crust. Made on 2013-10-28

My 20th homemade bread. Regular Basic bread made of 50% bread flour, 50% whole grain wheat flour, dry milk powder, olive oil, sugar, salt. Light crust. Made on 2013-10-28.
Started at 12.16 pm
Result: Good. 

The basic white bread was baked with Zojirushi bread maker model BB-HAQ10. Baking time: 3.5 hours. Estimated ingredients cost = $1.50. 

Recipe/Ingredients Ref: M2013J28

(1) 3/4 cup of water
(2) 1 cup of Prima brand (white) bread flour .
(3) 1 cup of 100% whole wheat flour (atta) [House Brand of KNP Trading Pte Ltd]
(4) 1 tablespoon of sugar
(5) 3 tablespoons of dry milk
(6) 1 teaspoon of salt
(7) 2.5 tablespoons (Estimated) of Naturel brand extra Virgin olive oil cold pressed 500 ML (Product of Spain) bought on 14 June 2012.
(8) 1 teaspoon of Bake King brand instant yeast 

Note 1:  The cup and spoons are the measuring cup and spoons delivered with the Zojirushi bread maker. 

Note 2: Cooling for one hour before packing.
