Essential amino acids

Essential amino acids cannot be made by the body. As a result, they must come from food.

The nine essential amino acids are: 

histidine, 
isoleucine, 
leucine, 
lysine, 
methionine, 
phenylalanine, 
threonine, 
tryptophan,
valine.
