A whopping $1547.96 worth of blood test wth. As usual on 25 Sept I went for my follow-up appt with the sgh neuro doc doc. During the consultation, he asked me to take some blood tests to further investigate my my case. From there I headed off to the laboratory and went home. On 26 Oct I recd a message from sgh asking me to pay that amt. on the same day. I got a shock. Why are blood test so expensive and why didn't the doc forewarns me. If he had, I wouldn't agree to take all the tests. $1547.96 is not a small amount as I am a retiree with no income and moreover I have so many other chronic disease eg on haemodialysis. What shd I do now sigh!!
