The BA.5 is about 2/3 of the cases in the USA, with another 16% which are BA.4. 

Sg is likely to be having the majority of cases dominated by the BA.5 too. 

BA.5 is known to be more able to grab onto the lung tissue cells. This means chances od a lung infection is higher, with possibly more serious illness. 

So make sure your oximeter at home still have their battery on a good charge, and get a quick SpO2 blood oxygen level  check whenever we have fever or other respiratory symptoms like sniffles, coughs, sore throat, stuffy nose, etc. 

Anyone with less than 93% blood oxygen level should call a doctor to consult.

Anyone with less than 90% blood oxygen should call an ambulance as this could be an emergency need for extra oxygen before our organs get too damaged from the lack of oxygen. 

So this even when we don’t feel breathless bcos covid is known to cause silent pneumonia. 

Don’t wait till it’s too late.
