At about 1145 am on 2009-04-16 (thu) I made smoothie with the following:
(a) 100g banana without skin (2.60 g of fibre, 89.0 kcal energy)
(b) 100g peeled carrot (2.80g of fibre, 41.0 kcal energy)
(c) Plain water = 100 ml
Method: Use Smoothie Function of Philips Blender HR2094 3 times for about 30 seconds each time with a 5-second break in between
Total Estimated Dietary Fiber = 5.40g.
Total Estimated Energy = 130g kcal
Smoothie produced with Philips Blender HR2094 = About 350 ml
No. of Serves = 1
Tasters: Shared by BB and Myself
Verdict: To me OK and BB preferred smoothie made with ice cubes.
My comments: This smoothie provides 5.40g. i.e. 21.6% of daily requirements of 25 grams of dietary fibre for adults. And a low energy of 130 kcal. Banana and carrot are both alkaline.
