A home-made bottled 500 ml Chinese multigrain energy drink (十谷米精力饮料)using recycled plastic bottle is very convenient for people working outside homes and students at schools. If possible store it in a refrigerator when not in use. It should be taken with a fat straw, if possible.
It is sufficient as a meal like a lunch or dinner. Total calorie is about 450 kcal to 550 kcal depending in the ingredients.
It is also suitable for old folks with less teeth or young children.
Very nutritious and healthy drink!

Choose Foods That Are High in Antioxidants and Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Eating a healthy diet loaded with fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants is good for your whole body, including your skin.
Antioxidants such as vitamins C, E, and A and beta-carotene can help reduce the damage caused by unstable molecules known as free radicals. These molecules can injure skin cells and cause signs of aging.
One of the best ways to increase your antioxidant intake, say dermatologists, is to eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.
"I recommend going for as much variety and color as possible in your diet," Day tells WebMD. "Try snacking on blueberries, strawberries, grapefruit, kale, spinach, and different kinds of peppers." Day also suggests adding a little tomato paste, which contains an antioxidant called lycopene, to stir-fried vegetables, brown rice, or quinoa.
It's also a good idea to stock your grocery cart with foods that are high in omega-3 fatty acids, including wild salmon, sardines, fortified eggs, and walnuts.
"Omega-3 fatty acids help keep the top, outer layer of the skin strong and intact so that external toxins and pollutants are kept out," says David E. Bank, MD, director of the Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic and Laser Surgery in Mount Kisco, N.Y., and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

How much B12 supplements should be taken by a vegan or a person who takes very little food from animal sources?
The following are my suggestions based on my experiences:
(a) See your doctor every four to six month to have a simple health screening which includes checking of B12.
(b) Get advice and prescription from your doctor for a supplement that includes B12. For example, my current B12 supplement is from Princi-B Fort tablets. Each tablet contains = Vit B1 250 mg, Vit B12 1,000 mcg, Vit B6 250 mg. Take 2 tablets daily.

Why Vitamin B12 is important and symptoms of B12 Deficiency
Vitamin
B12 is involved in the metabolism of all cells in the body; but the effects of
deficiencies are first seen in the blood and then
the nervous system. An anemia, called megaloblastic anemia, because it
is characterized by large red blood cells, is a common manifestation of
deficiency. The low red blood cell count is very well tolerated by the patient
even when severe, and is always cured by the taking of small amounts of B12.
Mild problems with the nervous system characterized by numbness
and tingling in the hands and feet also develop. These sensations are
reversible in early stages; however, damage to the nervous system can become
much more severe and irreversible after prolonged deficiency.
Why Wheatgrass and any plants are unreliable sources of B12?
Wheatgrass
is also thought to be superior to other vegetables in its content of Vitamin
B12, a vital nutrient.
Contrary to
popular belief, B12 is not contained within wheat grass or any vegetable,
rather it is a byproduct of the microorganisms living on plants.

Why vegans need to look to fortified foods or supplements to get vitamin B12
Info source: Extracted from http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/b12.htm
Vitamin B12 is needed for cell division and blood formation.
Neither plants nor animals make vitamin B12. Bacteria are responsible for producing vitamin B12.
Animals get their vitamin B12 from eating foods contaminated with vitamin B12 and then the animal becomes a source of vitamin B12.
Plant foods do not contain vitamin B12 except when they are contaminated by microorganisms or have vitamin B12 added to them.
Thus, vegans need to look to fortified foods or supplements to get vitamin B12 in their diet. Although recommendations for vitamin B12 are very small, a vitamin B12 deficiency is a very serious problem leading ultimately to anemia and irreversible nerve damage.
Prudent vegans will include sources of vitamin B12 in their diets. Vitamin B12 is especially important in pregnancy and lactation and for infants and children.
It is especially important for pregnant and lactating women, infants, and children to have reliable sources of vitamin B12 in their diets.

How to make a multigrain energy drink ?
I made a Multigrain energy drink for the first time on 15 August 2012 at about 2.30 pm, using Philips blender model HR2094.
Method: (see photos below)
(1) Take a packet of pre-cooked multigrain soft rice ( or called porridge ) consisting of about 125 grams of multigrain and about 375 ml of planned water.
(2) Put the cooked multigrain rice in Philips blender model HR2094 and about 100 ml of boiled plain water.
(3) Turn on power and press "smoothie" button and let the blending run for 1 minute. And now you have the multigrain energy drink ready to drink.
(4) Pour out the multigrain energy drink into a bowl or a cup.
(5) You may add black sesame powder and/or honey to enhance the flavour and have more nutrition.
(6) You can also keep the left over multigrain energy drink in the fridge and drink it later.
I welcome your feedback on this post.
Thank you.
