I am planning to buy TAIYO ELECTRIC PRESSURE COOKER (5L) PC51M to replace the malfunctioning TAIYO ELECTRIC PRESSURE COOKER (5L) Model TH-PC50M bought on 7 November 2009.

The price of model PC51M at Courts Megastore is S$199.00 as at 31 October 2012 as told in my phone call to Courts Customer hotline.

How to use Taiyo Brand pressure cooker model TH-PC50M to cook 1 serving of multigrain rice (Chinese 10-grain rice) in 30 minutes

I cooked only 1 serving of multigrain rice this evening at about 7.30 pm using Taiyo Brand pressure cooker model TH-PC50M for the first time.

The steps are as follows.

Step 1: Place 130 grams of multi grains consisting of (1) brown rice, (2) buckwheat, (3) barley, (4) wheat, (5)millet, (6) wheat germ, (7) oats, (8) crushed corns, (9) soy beans, (10) black glutinous rice, in the pressure cooker.

Step 2: Add about 450 ml of plain water (about 2 coffee cups)

Step 3: Set timer to 30 minutes.

Step 4: After about 35 to 40 minutes, check the cooker. By now the rice is cooked.

Step 5: Switch off the power.

Step 6: scoop out the rice from the pressure cooker and place the multi grain rice in a big bowl.
Note:(a) The total energy of the cooked multi grain rice is about 470 kcal.

(b) You may add 3 cups of water in Step 2 if you want the rice to be like watery porridge.

(c) You may add about 20 grams of black sesame (about 120 kcal) to the cooked multi grain rice.

Origins brand unprocessed bran (未加工麸皮) (500g pack) (Austalian Product)

Update on 2012-03-21 (Wed):

On 21 March 2012 morning, I bought a 500-gram pack of Origins brand unprocessed bran (未加工麸皮) (Australian product) at S$2.20 from NTUC Fairprice at AMK hub again. This Origins brand unprocessed bran was classified as organic food wrongly on 21 January 2010.

This Origins brand unprocessed bran is not organic.

On 21 January 2010, I bought a 500-gram pack of Origins brand unprocessed bran (organic food) at S$2.20 from NTUC Fairprice at AMK hub to add more variety to my multigrain diet.

The Dietary fiber of this unprocessed bran is 44.7 garms per 100 grams and the energy is 660 kcal per 100 grams.

I bought a Taiyo Brand pressure cooker model TH-PC50M (by T.H. International Pte Ltd) on 7 November 2009 (Saturday) from Courts Megastore mainly for cooking my multi-grain rice because it takes too long (about 10 hours) to cook multi-grain rice by my slow cooker.
