Some photos of making of Green smoothie (冰沙) consisting of apple, orange, banana, carrot and organic xiao bai cai (小白菜）on 2012-03-18 (Sunday). The photos were taken with my new Iphone 4S bought on 2012-03-15 (Thursday).


First put 2 medium-size babanas (about 20g) , one orange (about 120g) , one apple (about 110g) and 170 grams of carrot and 250 ml of cold plain water in the blender. Use Philips Blender HR2094 to blend for 1 minute.


After pouring out about 300 ml of smoothie for Latte ( a family member), about 100 garms of xiao bai cai (小白菜0 and 50 ml of cold plain water were added. Blended for 1 minute.

My green smoothie ready to drink was about 750 ml.

On 2012-01-27, Friday I bought my third Philips Blender HR2094 (750 watts) at S$129.00. (Usual Price = S$150.00 and later S$139.00). Warranty is again 2 years.

This blender is for BB to help him to cultivate a habit to take healthy fruits and vegetables and other smoothies.

I am a very satisfied user of Philips Blender HR2094.

I use it to make green smoothie daily.

My second Philips Blender HR2094 (750 watts) bought on 2011-02-10, Thursday at S$129.00.

I bought my first Philips Blender HR2094 (750 watts) on 2008-09-13 at S$142.00 (Usual price S$150.00) in my attempt to eat more raw fruits and vegetables. 2 years guarantee.

Since then I used it almost everyday for about 900 days (blender using cost about S$0.16 per day) to make smoothie until the motor emitted smoke persistently on 2011-02-08. The 2-year warranty had expired. I stopped using it for safety reason.
I must say that I have been a very satisfied user of Philips Blender HR2094.
This blender had helped me consume easily about 500 grams of raw fruits and vegetable daily in the form of smoothie, thus providing me with about 12 grams of dietary fibre daily.

So I bought my second Philips Blender HR2094 (750 watts) on 2011-02-10, Thursday at S$129.00. (Usual Price = S$150.00). Warranty is again 2 years.

To me, making smoothie with the blender may be the most convenient way to eat raw fruits and vegetables.

-- Cut meat or solid ingredients into smaller pieces before putting themin the blender jar.

-- Do not process a large quantity of solid ingredients at the same time. Process these ingredients in a series of small batches instead.

-- To make tomato juice, cut the tomatoes in four and drop the pieces through the opening in the lid onto the rotating blades.

Question: How long can I use the blender at one time?

Answer: Do not let the appliance run for more than 3 minutes at a time. If you have not finished processing after 3 minutes, switch off the appliance and let it cool down to room temperature before you let it run again.

I assembled the Blender Jar properly, but after switching on the Blender, the motor is not working. What could I do?

On 3 December 2010, Friday, according to its advertisement, Best Denki was selling Philips blender HR2094 at a special offer price of S$118 with limited stock (Usual price = S$150). But I do not know the warranty is 1 or 2 years.

The blender HR2094 I bought at S$148 on 13 September 2008 came with 2 years warranty.

First Smoothie made by me with Philips Blender HR 2094 with an orange and an apple on 2008-09-17 (Wednesday)

At about 10.30 am on 2008-09-17 (Wednesday), I made my first smoothie with the following:

(a) Orange without skin and seeds = 140 g.
(b) Fuji apple without skin and seeds = 130 g.
(c) Cold water = 110 ml

Estimated Dietary Fiber = 5.05 g.
Estimated Energy = 128.2 kcal

Method: Use “Smoothie” Function for 3 times of about 20 seconds each.

Smoothie produced with Philips Blender HR 2094 = About 230 ml
Verdict: Very Delicious!

Cleaning Method:(a) I rinsed the jar without the all parts including the Blade unit twice and then placed securely the jar on the motor unit.
(b) Use the “Smoothie” function to “wash” the jar and the parts within.
(c) Repeat steps (a) and (b) three times.
(d) Left the clean water in the jar for about 30 minutes before pouring it away.
(e) The blender will be use for the rest of the day before washing all the removable parts tonight.

Note: I learned the above cleaning method from a demonstrator of a much more expensive blender of different but very well known brand. My cleaning method is not the method recommended by the Philips blender manual.

Note added on 2014-12-30. 11.37 pm: This was the first Philips Blender HR2094 bought by me 13th September 2008. 


I bought a Philips Blender HR2094 (750 watts) on 13th September 2008 at S$142.00 in my attempt to eat more raw fruits and vegetables. 2 years Guarantee.

To me, making smoothie with the blender may be the most convenient way to eat raw fruits and vegetables. Time will tell!
