Breaking bias?

People's prejudices were assessed with a series of publicly available tests at the start of the study.

They were then given "counter-bias training". During the session, pictures of faces were paired with words that were the opposite of widely-held stereotypes.

So female faces were paired with words like "maths" or black faces with positive words like "sunshine".

Distinctive sounds were played during the counter-bias training and were played again at low volume during a 90-minute afternoon nap.

My current BMI is within the healthy range of 18.5 to 22.9.

For me, the range of healthy weight is 50.9786 kg (BMI = 18.5) to 63.10324 kg (BMI = 22.9).

People with BMI values of 23 kg/m2 (or 25 kg/m2 according to some sources) and above have been found to be at risk of developing heart disease and diabetes.

To be healthy, I must have a healthy weight.

For the past 11 years, we have been studying what we call “blue zones” around the world—places where people live the longest with the lowest rates of chronic disease.

More than 65% of what people in the blue zones ate came from complex carbohydrates: sweet potatoes in Okinawa, Japan; wild greens in Ikaria, Greece; squash and corn in Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula. Their diet consists mainly of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans and other carbohydrates. They eat meat but only small amounts, about five times a month, usually on celebratory occasions.

The cornerstone of every longevity diet in the world was the humble bean. One five-country study showed that beans were the only food that predicted a longer life—for each 20-gram serving (about two tablespoons) eaten a day, the chance of dying dropped by 8%. Fava beans in Sardinia, black beans in Costa Rica, lentils in Ikaria, soybeans in Okinawa. My 41st homemade bread was made on 2015-05-10, Sunday with 2 tsp active yeast.

My 41st homemade bread was made on 2015-05-10, Sunday with 2 tsp active yeast after the 40th bread made on 2015--05-06 This bread was made with Bob's Red Mill Unbromated Unbleached Organic White Flour for handmade bread and bread machines.

Light crust. Started at 5.02 pm. Baking with timer = 3 hours 30 minutes. I Used Zojirushi BB-HAC10 Bread Maker.

Ingredients: (See bread recipe below)

3/4 cup of water (not 2/3 cup)
2 cups of Bob's Red Mill Unbromated Unbleached Organic White Flour for bread making
1.5 Tbsp SIS brand icing sugar
1.5 Tbsp Anlene milk powder
0.5 Tsp salt
1 Tbsp Butter
2 Tsp Active Dry Yeast (not 1 tsp)

[Results]: Not as soft as white bread bought in provision shop. Dimensions: 8 cm x 9 xm x 13 cm. Slightly bigger than the 40th bread Tasted ok for me.

[Action plan]: I would modify the recipe next time.I would use  only 1.5 cups of flour and 2 tsp of active yeast instead of 2 tsp. 1 tbsp butter or vegetable oil, 1 tbsp milk powder. 1 tsp salt.

Cooking of multi whole grains cereal for BB on 17 May 2015.

On 17 May 2015, Sunday, I cooked multi whole grains (including beans, seeds, lentils and nuts) with Phillips pressure cooker for BB breakfasts and drinks for next Monday and Tuesday. Net weight of the multi whole grains before cooking was 550 grams.
Let the multi whole grains cereal cool down before putting it in the refrigerator.

译文:担心的是人们知道前进却不知道后退,知道索取却不知道满足,所以才会有受困窘侮辱的过错,才会有产生悔恨的过失。

译文:对于读书这件事,担心的是人们不喜欢它,喜欢它是没有什么伤害的。

译文:把清清白白做人的品质留给后代子孙,不也是很厚重的一笔财富吗?

译文:背着木柴去救火,扬起沸水来止沸,用残暴来代替残暴,与原来的混乱同出一辙,其后果之严重是很难测的,这样下去,继前朝而为君的,给后代还有什么可显示的呢?

译文:当官的人应该廉洁公正,坚持自己的操守,不要因为贪财而丧身败家。

译文:有长远打算的人不应为眼前的一点怨言而担忧,做大事的人不必顾及一些细微琐事。

  24.聚如丘山,散如风雨,迅如雷电,捷如鹰鹘。《元史·郝经传》

译文:(用兵之道在出奇制胜):聚集在一起的时候如同山丘一样不可震撼,分散的时候又如风雨一样无处不在,行动可以像闪电一样迅速,动作可以像鹰鹘一样凶猛。

  25.朝廷行事苟不自正,何以正天下?《金史·世宗上》

译文:朝廷里的人自己行事都不正,怎么要求天下的人行为端正呢?

  26.馨南山之竹,书罪无穷;决东海之波,流恶难尽。《旧唐书·李密传》

译文:用完南山的竹子(做笔)也写不完罪恶;放尽东海之水也无法流完恶行!(罪大恶极)

  27.义感君子,利动小人。《晋书·符登传》

译文:道义可以感动君子,利益可以打动小人。

  28.太刚则折,至察无徒。《晋书·周岂页》

译文:过于刚直就会折断,极其明察就没有门徒。

  29.智者弃短取长,以致其功。《后汉书·王符传》

译文:聪明人舍弃短处,发挥长处,以此来取得成功。

  30.君子立身,虽云百行,唯诚与孝,最为其首。《隋书·文帝纪》

译文:君子在社会上立足成名,尽管需要修养的品行有很多方面,但只有诚和孝才是最重要的。
